New Board of Management member: Claire Joyce (mother of Caoimhe, Senior Infants) has been elected to the Board of Management as Parents' Nominee. We wish Claire the very best in her new role. Go n-éiró go geal léi. The full board is now as follows: Bishop's Nominees: Marie Killilea (Chairperson), Des Hanniffy; Teachers' Nominees: Dermot Cleary, Joan Reidy; Parents' Nominees: Claire Joyce, Pat Fitzmaurice; Community Nominees: Susan Howley, Sean Hanniffy. Strictly thank you: Many thanks to all who supported Martina Keaney and Tom Kearney in the final of Strictly Come Dancing held in Maree Community Centre on Saturday night. We are extremely proud of them as they finished in the top three and helped to raise much needed funds for Maree Development Association. Maree school had a unique claim to all couples as at least one half of each couple were current or past parents and indeed very good friends and supporters of our school. So well done to all who took to the floor for what was a brilliant show of the highest standard. Many thanks to you all for your financial support on the night. Articles for our newsletter: Many of the children participate in competitions with their own clubs & societies at weekends etc. We would often be unaware of their achievements so we would appreciate if our attention was drawn to these so that we could acknowledge them in our newsletter.

Strictly Come Dancing: With a few days to go it looks likely that our entry for Saturday night's performance in the Strictly Come Dancing Final are most definitely going to be in the final shake-up. Paddy Power has them unbackable at 2/5. If you cannot attend the show you can still help us to win the €1000 prize money towards our new Interactive Whiteboards by sending in €2 (per vote) to the class teacher so that we can vote on your behalf on the night. We wish Martina and Tom the very best (hopefully they can stay on their feet) and, on your behalf I would like to thank them for taking the risk of making a show of themselves for a very worthy cause! Best of luck also to all the competitors (break a leg) and to the Maree Development Association for all their fine work on the new facilities. Remember it's for all our children. Mothers' Nominee to the Board of Management: Just a reminder of the meeting tomorrow (Thurs 25 th at 8pm) to nominate a mother to the vacancy in the B.O.M. Please note that all parents (fathers as well as mothers) are entitled to vote. Hope to see a good attendance. Book Fair: Tonight (Wednesday 24 th from 7.30 pm to 9 pm) is the last chance to support the Book Fair. My thanks as always to the Parents' Association who have given their time over the past few days to organise & run the event. Parent Teacher Meetings Reminder: Thurs 25 th and Friday 26 th. All children go home at 1pm on both days.

It is lovely to see the spirit of generosity has not evaporated despite the difficult times we are in. Ms Sinead Killeen: We wish Ms Sinead Killeen the very best in her new post in Convent of Mercy, Roscommon. Sinead took a career break from Maree N.S. this year and has now secured a permanent post in her native town. Strictly Come Dancing: Maree N.S. is being represented in the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing Final by Martina Keaney (mother of Sam from 1st class) and Tom Kearney (father of Sorcha 2nd , Caoilin 1st and Rian Junior Infants).
